Competencies

Collaborative Work

During my last position as Sr. Program Manager, I was part of the leadership team of the organisation. Additionally, a group of 30 implementer was directly reporting to me, and I was also dealing with 35 master trainers. I have voluntarily handled teams of more than 100 members. None of the projects can be individually driven; it is always a collaborative effort. Contribution from every individual was recognized, and therefore, I am remembered in each of the ex-organisation. I have always promoted healthy competition in the teams. But at the same time, making sure that people give importance to the team and work towards the interest of the organisation. Therefore, team members always promoted learning from each other, and I never had to force for the internal capacity building.

Business Perspective

I have worked on the client-facing roles where I used to understand the business requirements and technical design solutions accordingly. I directly worked with prestigious clients like ANZ Bank and visited the client location in Singapore. It always demanded stringent planning and meeting deadlines. Similarly, I was interacting with the State Governments and Sponsors to understand the expectations and appraise them with the progress. Maintaining risk register, stakeholder registers, documenting environmental changes were a few of my responsibilities.

Communication

I have handled key responsibilities in various organisations, and have found active listening and effective communication are critical success factors while serving at such senior positions. I believe communication is not just about listening and speaking but interpreting and decoding. It is always context-dependent and situation driven. I have mastered the skill to communicate my ideas to people coming from various backgrounds. My academic papers and general blogs both deliver the same insights, but those are tailored considering the audience. In a professional context, proactive communication and responsible sharing have given me an upper edge over others.

Creativity and Innovation

Process optimization, continuous professional development, and program design demand creativity. I successfully managed these responsibilities during various positions. It challenges me to think beyond routine work. My teams always focused on innovation and creativity. I promoted out-of-box solutions after scrutiny of organisational and external constraints. It keeps the cohort motivated and gives reasons to walk the extra mile.
